Scuba Diving Lessons 

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Complete the PADI Referral diving program here at the LRD. Two sessions scuba diving in the pool along with a little online learning is all it takes.

Important Info

When:

  • By appointment only this program is taught on select weekends
  • Online registration is required and there is some prep work to be done before the fun begins. 
  • May 11-12 and June 1-2
    • Saturday: 8:00am-12am
    • Sunday: 900am-12am

What you will need:

  • Each diver will need their own mask, snorkel and fins which is the minimum personal gear needed to participate in this program (These items are not included in the price.).
  • Gloves and boots will also be required for divers interested in completing checkout in cold water locations such as Monterey or Seattle.

Cost:

  • LRD Member $398*
  • *Prices listed above include everything needed to complete the PADI Referral Program, except personal gear which is a mask, snorkel and fins.

Qualifications:

  • Must be age 12 and above to take this course.

How it Works:

  • To become a “Certified” diver you must complete the eLearning and pool program as well as four open water ocean checkout dives. 
  • A popular option is to finish the pool and eLearning program stateside. 
  • Complete the open water checkout dives while on vacation at a comfortable tropical local. 
  • The LRD program completes the eLearning and pool work which is known as the referral program.
  • Another option is to certify in colder local waters such as Monterey. 
    • Conditions can be challenging for some.
    • Divers should consult with their instructor during pool sessions to see what is best for them and their families.
  • Ocean checkout dive fees are not included in the price of this referral program.

  • Get personal gear sorted.
  • *Divers will need to visit the store in person to sign the liability and medical waiver. In-person signature is required. Instructional gear will also be sized and prepared. Scuba Fusion does offer a 15% discount on masks, snorkels and fins for any student participating in this.

Scuba Instructors:

  • Lessons are taught and operated by Scuba Fusion, a PADI Dive center and member of Professional Association of Diving Instructors.
  • Consider buying your scuba gear from the Scuba Fusion store. They offer a 10% discount and let you exchange masks and fins that don't fit well.
