Camp Ladera Begins Monday June 21st. register here
Due to the ongoing Covid19 pandemic, we have been diligently working to develop a Camp Ladera 2021 that will meet the ever-changing county health orders as well as provide a fun filled camp experience. We can only imagine how hard it has been for families with school aged children at home. We are excited to offer 3 2-week sessions beginning on Monday, June 21st.
Our camp directors this year are Piper Mueller and Sean Barada. Both have worked at Camp Ladera for a number of years. Our entire camp staff will be made up of familiar faces from last year’s camp.
We will have 3 sessions of Camp Ladera. Each session will last 2 weeks each. . There will be no proration for a child who attends less than 2 weeks.
Session 1 June 21st-July 2nd
Session 2 July 5th-July 16th
Session 3 July 19th-July 30th
Ages 5-12. The camper must turn 5 on or before the first date of each camp session.
At this time, camp will be for 2021 Ladera Rec family members only. If Covid restrictions allow, we will consider non-member registrationsat a future date.
Cost: $595 per session (members).
There will be NO REFUNDS.
In accordance with County regulations, the campers will be divided into groups of 12 or fewer and they will have the same counselors for each 2-week camp. There will be a minimum of 2 counselors assigned to each group.
Camp protocols will include drop-off and pick-up procedures, limited if any intermingling of groups, and a daily structure that includes social distancing protocols with regards to other groups. Social distancing within groups is completely unenforceable and social contact is inevitable. Our intention is to keep groups from interacting with other groups.
Parents MUST wear masks when dropping off and picking up their children. Each child will have their hands sanitized with hand sanitizer as they enter the LRD. Hand santizing stations will be available around the LRD premises.
Children must arrive and leave in swimsuits and bring their own towel. Bathrooms will only be available for use in urgent cases. (No child will be denied the use of the restroom if they have to “go”.)
Every child must bring their own clearly labelled water bottle. Water fountains will not be available but the bottle filler is operational and sanitized regularly.
Children must bring their own lunch in a clearly labelled lunch bag every day.
Pool time will be divided in to 2 half-hour slots. During each slot, two groups will be sharing the pool, but will be kept in different sections of the pool using lane lines. The diving board will be available during designated times during pool time.
Children must be picked up by parents or designated caregivers.
All equipment will be sanitized at the end of the day.
Staff will be required to socially distance from other counselors and lifeguards while at the LRD. This will be strictly enforced and failure to abide by the rules will result in serious consequences.
There will be NO LOST AND FOUND. At the end of each day, all items left behind will be disposed of.
