About Us

Amid a stunning setting, Ladera Recreation District’s facilities include a Junior Olympic size swimming pool and a spacious baby pool with its adjunct play area, “Laderaland.” Complete with swings, slide and climbing equipment, this is a favorite play area for all those who conquer it. We also have four tennis courts, two of which can be lit for evening use. In addition, we have many programs and activities described on this website that we hope will be of interest to you.

The focus of the LRD in recent years has been to create a beautiful and comfortable setting. Our hope is that the LRD will be a true community center, a “home away from home” for everyone. On Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the summer, the pool remains open until 9:00 pm for evening barbecues. These barbecues are informal social gatherings and fun for all ages. Grab your food to grill and head to the pool. The LRD provides plates, utensils, condiments and grilling equipment for your communal use.

The District was initially formed to serve the residents of the Ladera Community. We have now extended our services and welcome members and guests who live in the Bay Area.

Mission Statement

The Ladera Recreation District’s mission is to provide a clean, safe recreational environment in which members can exercise, socialize, relax, and develop lasting friendships through a variety of social events, traditions, and leisure activities. Our goal is to operate a financially stable, effective, and efficient recreation facility, with a pledge to be responsive and flexible to our members’ concerns and needs, as well as to the needs of the Ladera community.

The LRD does not offer a private, exclusive club membership and does not exclude any person based on race, religion, or creed.

The Ladera Recreation District offers a seasonal aquatics program, May through October, and year-round tennis and fitness programs. Special social events and holiday celebrations are planned for the enjoyment of the entire Ladera community.
