Meet Our Swim Instructors

 Brandon Johnson

A person wearing glasses, smiling outdoors with a blurred background of trees.

Brandon grew up in Arizona and earned his first participation ribbon in the City Summer Swim League at age seven. Through high school he worked as a lifeguard and taught swim lessons between double practices. He continued his swim career at Lake Forest College, earning All-Conference distinctions. Brandon served as the Head Age Group Coach at Los Altos Mountain View Aquatics. In his short time, he guided developing swimmers who could barely make a legal stroke achieve their first A times. Coaching was not only a way for him to share his love for the sport, but also an opportunity to let emerging swimmers discover self-confidence, establish personal fitness goals, and find a place within a team environment.

Stephanie Weden

The image features a woman smiling warmly, with prominent eyebrows and smooth skin, captured in a close-up black and white portrait.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Stephanie has spent most of her life in and around the water. A former high school teacher and lifelong swimmer, she has been teaching and coaching swimming since the age of 13 through public pools, private swim clubs, and public high school programs. Over the years, she has served as a swim instructor, assistant coach, and head coach, working with swimmers of all ages and abilities. She is passionate about stroke development, water safety, and helping swimmers build confidence both in and out of the pool.

As a mom of two toddlers, including one with special needs, she brings patience, compassion, and adaptability to every lesson. She believes swimming should be both safe and enjoyable, creating a positive environment where swimmers can grow, learn, and have fun. Outside of aquatics, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, cooking, staying active, and taking family road trips.
