Fun Fall Activities

Fall After-school Camps: (Kindergarten through 3rd grade)

This fall we will have an after-school camp to help get kids active and moving! Just as with summer camp we will conduct fall camp through “pods,” or groups of 12 campers each. However, each fall group will be organized by grade. Fall camp is only available to kids in K through 3rd grade. For kindergarteners and first graders, camp will occur on Tuesday/Thursday from 3:15 - 4:45 pm. For second and third graders, camp will occur on Monday/Wednesday from 3:15 - 4:45 pm. Session 1 of fall camp will begin on August 31st and will last for four weeks.

Each group will not interact with other groups. In order to ensure that this happens, we will have labeled check-in tables and tents. As camp this fall is only 1.5 hours, it will consist of 45 minutes of field games and 45 minutes of pool time. The field and pool will have marked off areas to ensure that groups do not mix.

To ensure the safety of campers and staff, campers must arrive and leave camp with a mask on. Campers and counselors can only remove their masks within their groups. Campers must also arrive in bathing suits, as changing rooms will not be available. All campers will sanitize regularly. Sanitation will occur upon arrival, between activities, and before departure. Group members and counselors will be released after registration.

Arts & Crafts Fridays: (First through 6th grade)

Because arts and crafts are not a part of camp this fall, we will be offering an arts and crafts workshop on Fridays from 3:15- 4:30 pm. This arts and crafts workshop, led by Katherine Tearse and Fiona Ralston, will be open to kids first through sixth grade. This workshop will consist of two pods, or groups, of 12 kids each. Session 1 of this workshop will begin on September 4th and end on September 25th.

Science Saturdays: (4th through 6th grade)

Recently, I (Piper) learned that science was deemed a nonessential subject for a lot of kids in the neighborhood. It pains me to think that kids won’t have the opportunity to develop the same love for science that I developed early on. Due to this, Gavin Plume and I will be offering a science workshop on Saturdays from 10:30 - 11:45 am. This workshop will be available for kids grades 4th-6th. Each workshop will consist of two pods, or groups, of 12 each. Session 1 of this workshop will begin on September 5th and end on September 26th
